About Zhenfeng Tower
Zhenfeng Pagoda is located in Yingjiang Temple, Anqing City, Anhui Province. It was originally called Wanfo Pagoda, also known as Yingjiang Temple Pagoda. It was later named "Zhenfeng", which means "to invigorate the style of writing". Zhenfeng Tower is located on the north side of Yanjiang East Road, Yingjiang District, Anqing City, Anhui Province, on the edge of the Yangtze River. The construction of Anqing Zhenfeng Tower began in the second year of Longqing's reign (1568) and was completed in the fourth year of Longqing's reign (1570). It is one of the ancient towers along the Yangtze River. In addition to the function of a pagoda, the pagoda also has the function of navigation and extradition. In the second year of Kangxi (1663), governor Zhang Chaozhen rebuilt the main hall and the Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda at the mountain gate.
