About Dongshenglou

Dongsheng Building is a circular earth building located in the Hekeng Earth Building Group in Nanjing County, Fujian Province. It is located on the west side of Nanxun Building and was built from 1958 to 1961. The building faces east and west and adopts an internal corridor layout. It covers an area of 870 square meters and has a construction area of 2063 square meters. It is 3 floors (11 meters) high, with an outer diameter of 29.5 meters and an inner diameter of 13 meters. There are 22 rooms on each floor. The base wall is 1 meter thick and there is only one gate. There is an existing well in the inner courtyard, and there are currently 7 households with a total of 25 people living there. The Hekeng Tulou Group where Dongsheng Tower is located was listed as a World Cultural Heritage in July 2008, and was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 2013.
