About Zong Bo Bachelor's Square
Zongbo's Xueshifang is located at the entrance of Zaiyang Lane, Archway Street, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. It is a four-column, three-bay, five-story stone archway built by Huang Jin, the Minister of Rites of Nanjing in the late Ming Dynasty. It is decorated with double-sided hollow stone carvings of characters and stories. The inscription on the plaque is "Zongbo Bachelor", which is named after Huang Jin was appointed as the Minister of Rites (in ancient times known as "Zongbo") and served as a lecturer. The square eye is engraved with "Gongduan of the Third Generation" to reflect the family honor of his father's official title due to Huang Jin's appointment in the Zhanshi Mansion. Huang Jin (1589-1671), courtesy name Fuyuan, nicknamed Juicun and Juian, was born in Raoping, Guangdong. He was a Jinshi in the second year of Qi tomorrow (1622).
