About Zhu Shi Fang
Zhushifang is a Ming Dynasty stone archway located in Taishan Park, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. The square was built during the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty when Jiang Ke, a Jinshi scholar, asked for a title for his father Jiang Xing. Because Jiang Ke once served as the censor, "Zhu Shi" was the nickname of the censor. The archway is commonly known as the "Huizi Archway". The original stone carvings of Hui people riding lions on both sides of the gate were used as pillar-supporting stones. After the relocation, the stone carvings were no longer used as pillar-supporting stones, but were moved to both sides of the passage behind the archway for separate display. The archway was originally erected next to Jiang Ke's residence in the south of Shengxian Bridge in Taizhou City.
