About bayberry garden

Yangmei Garden was originally a natural village in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province. It was abolished in 1985 due to the complete expropriation of the land. Its name originated during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It became famous because the white bayberries produced by the local wealthy family named Chen were presented to Emperor Qianlong as tribute. It is also recorded in the "Pinghu County Chronicle". At the beginning of liberation, it was adjacent to the river beach of Guanxi City, the original city, to the east, and to the oil tanker station to the northeast. Later, land was successively acquired for the construction of Pinghu General Machinery Factory, Pinghu Cotton Mill, Pinghu Water Pump Factory and residential projects. By 1985, all the land in the village had been expropriated, and the original site is now the Meiyuan North Village and Wanfu Zunyuan plots.
