About Guo surnamed Jing
Guoxingjing is an ancient well in the Ming Dynasty in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. It was named after the "Zhu" surname given to Zheng Chenggong by Emperor Longwu of the Southern Ming Dynasty. It is also known as "Guoxingyejing" among the people. During the Yongli period of the late Ming Dynasty, there was a severe drought in Shijing Town. Zheng Chenggong's garrison deduced the location of underground freshwater veins based on the traces of ant activity, and successfully dug a well after delineating it with jade belts. The well water is clear and sweet, which alleviates the water plight of the military and civilians, and led to the construction of dozens of wells in the surrounding areas to improve irrigation conditions. The existing well site is located at the southeastern foot of Aoshi Mountain, Shijing Town, Nan'an City. The diameter of the stone circular manhole is about 1.
