About Taiping Pagoda

The Taiping Tower is located in Wanguang Garden in Zhangfa Mountain in the north of Qianshan City, Anqing City, Anhui Province (inside the Qianshan Museum). The tower base covers an area of 261 square meters, with a total height of 43 meters. It has seven floors and eight directions, and is divided layer by layer from bottom to top. The Taiping Pagoda was first built in the Xianhe period of the Jin Dynasty (326-334). Later, due to the decay of the temple and tower, it was rebuilt in the third year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty (1104) due to crowdfunding. The main body of the existing tower is a relic of this reconstruction. From 1986 to 1994, the national and provincial cultural relics bureaus and the Qianshan County People's Government allocated one million yuan in special funds to carry out the fourth overhaul of the Taiping Tower.
