About wangyangtai
Wangyangtai is a Ming Dynasty cliff stone inscription located in Nanmen Village, Meiling Town, Zhao'an County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It was inscribed by Cai Chao (1467-1549), the right-hand political advisor of Fujian Chief Secretary, in the fifth year of Jiajing (1526). The stone carving faces north and faces south. The main body is a natural vertical stone, shaped like a screen. The huge stone below is built into a mirror platform. It has three characters "Wangyangtai" in regular script. It is 600 centimeters high and 270 centimeters wide. Each character is 1.5 meters high. Cai Chao also wrote the poem "Leaning on the Rock and Looking at the Ocean". This is the sea gateway of the city where the hanging bell is located. You can overlook the South China Sea from a distance.
