About Shuangliu Temple
Shuangliu Temple is located at the northern foot of Tashan River in the southern suburbs of Sanrao Town, Raoping County, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. It is named after Shangrao Creek and Xintang Creek merge in front of the temple. It is a famous temple in eastern Guangdong. The temple was built before the Song Dynasty. When Raoping was established as a county in the Ming Dynasty (1477), it was named after the content of Wang Shipeng's inscription and was listed as the first of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Raoping". The temple was originally divided into three parts: the main gate, the front hall and the back hall according to the mountain. There are still osmanthus trees from the Song Dynasty and the "Meixi Stele" inscribed by Wang Shipeng, who predicted that "the world is in severe drought, here is half harvest; the world is in chaos, here is no worries".
