About Yu Garden
Yuyuan is located on Fuxing Road in the southeast of Gulangyu Island, Siming District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It covers an area of 5,700 square meters. It was built in May 1984 in memory of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi, the founder of modern obstetrics and gynecology. It is open to the public free of charge all year round. The name of the garden "Yu" means nurturing and nurturing, and the original site was Pear Grove (formerly known as "Pear Garden"). The main landscape in the park includes the white marble vertical statue of Lin Qiaozhi (on the right side of the granite platform) and the 140-square-meter life story exhibition hall, which displays the objects used during his lifetime, writings, photos, and award certificates. Two Araucaria trees planted by Deng Yingchao in 1984 are located in the garden, and the vegetation covers star chrysanthemums, Milanese, hibiscus and other categories.
