About Tianfeng Pagoda
Tianfeng Tower is located at the intersection of the west end of Dashani Street and Jiefang South Road, Haishu District, Ningbo City. It was first built between the "Long Live Tiance" and "Long Live Dengfeng" years (695-696) of Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty. It was named because the year of the tower's construction began with "Tian" and "Feng". The Tianfeng Pagoda first built in the Tang Dynasty is a low quadrilateral tower; the existing hexagonal brick-wood structure tower is 18 feet (about 51 meters) tall and has 14 floors, divided into 7 light and 7 dark (including the underground palace). It is a Song pagoda style rebuilt in the 14th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1144). Tianfeng Pagoda is one of the important landmarks in Ningbo. It is a unique Song Dynasty attic-style brick and wood structure tower in Jiangnan, China.
