About Ertianmen
Ertianmen is located on the ancient road of Huacheng South Road in Jiuhuashan Mountain, adjacent to Ganlu Temple (the seat of Jiuhuashan Buddhist College) to the north and Longchi Nunnery to the south. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and is a brick and wood structure landscape building. The shape of the white walls and black tiles and the design of the two water bays are typical of Huizhou architecture. The building is 5 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 4 meters high at the ridge. A stone path passes through the door, and stone benches are placed on both sides for pilgrims to rest. Ertianmen was initiated and built by Bao Ning'an from Qingyang in the early Qing Dynasty, but was later destroyed due to war. In the early years of Tongzhi (1862-1865), local gentry raised funds to revive it.
