About Zhenhai Tower

Zhenhai Tower is located 50 meters northwest of the intersection of South Street and Gulou West Road in Zhenhai District, Ningbo City. The locals call it "Drum Tower". The main body of the existing building was built in the 29th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1396). It is said that the building was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the 59th year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1794). The existing pavilion is built with strips of stone, 33 meters long and 6 meters high, the door opening is 5 meters high and 6 meters wide, the building is 8 meters high, and the building area is more than 500 square meters. The north and south gates of the downstairs passage are decorated with stone foreheads, with the words "Chaozong Monuments" written in the south and "Southeast Pinghan" written in the north.
