About Wind and Lotus at the Crooked Courtyard
The Qu Garden and Waving Lotus, one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake in Hangzhou, is located on the north bank of the West Lake in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on the northwest side of the Su Di across the Hong Bridge. The landscape originated from the "Qu Garden" and the surrounding lotus pond landscape, which were used to brew official wine during the Southern Song Dynasty. It covers an area of 280,000 square meters. Qu (Qu) Courtyard was originally a workshop for brewing official wine at Xingchun Bridge (i.e. Hongchun Bridge) during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). The workshop was located at the point where Jinsha Stream merges into the West Lake. Volume 10 of the Ming Dynasty's "West Lake Tour Chronicles": "Quyuan, in the Song Dynasty, used the water of Jinsha Stream to make Quyuan and brew official wine.
