About Jixian Pavilion
The Jixian Pavilion is the site of "Tingwan Riding and Shooting", one of the eighteen scenic spots in the West Lake in the Qing Dynasty. It was originally rebuilt by Li Wei, the governor of Zhejiang in the Qing Dynasty. It is located opposite the "Evening Festival Fragrance" stone monument in Hangzhou West Lake Park. The pavilion is the only pavilion built on the water on the West Lake. The pavilion was rebuilt during the renovation of the West Lake South Line in 2002. It was completed and opened in 2003. The original site reconstruction of the steel structure was completed on April 28, 2013. On September 12, 2012, Hangzhou encountered strong convective weather, which caused the pavilion to collapse. Upon inspection, the wind force reached level 12 in an instant. No termite erosion or decay problems were found in the wooden structure before the collapse.
