About White Dragon Cave

Bailong Cave is located in Caobo Township, You County, Hunan Province, at the foot of the Luoxiao Mountains at the junction of Hunan and Jiangxi. It belongs to the Zhuzhou Jiubu River Scenic Area National Geopark. The cave was developed in Carboniferous dolomitic limestone and was formed about 300 million years ago. It has a total length of 1,086.8 meters and is divided into two types: dry cave (upper and middle layers) and water cave (lower layer). The open tour route is 1,280 meters. The landscape inside the cave includes white dragon horses (the origin of the cave name), ancient river beds, paleontological fossils, stone bell music, etc. One of the 29-meter-high stone pillars is more prominent, and some of the milkstones can be struck to make sounds. It has pictographic landscapes such as "Tang Monk Journeying West", "Elephants Watching the Pond" and "Guanyin Sitting on the Lotus".
