About The former site of Shanxi Lichuanzhi Medical College
The former site of Shanxi Lichuanzhi Medical College is located in Jingyingdong Erdao Street, Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It is now a provincial cultural relic protection unit and is used as the office building of the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. Its predecessor was the Shanxi Medical Training Institute founded in 1919. It was an earlier medical school in Shanxi Province and the beginning of modern medical education in Shanxi. After the outbreak of the all-out Anti-Japanese War, it trained and transported more than a thousand medical staff to Shanxi and even the country. It originally covered an area of 84,000 square meters, but now only a two-story brick-wood structure main building remains. The architectural style is a combination of traditional Chinese architecture and Western architecture.
