About Yidou Gate
Yidoumen is a Ming Dynasty city tower reconstructed in Baidi City Scenic Area, Fengjie County, Chongqing. It is located on the right side of Yaokui Pagoda and faces the river. It was originally the southern gate among the five major gates in the ancient city of Kuizhou. From 2002 to 2004, due to the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir, 11,000 cubic meters of city gate stones were moved from the original site of the ancient city of Kuizhou in Hangxi to the current site for reconstruction based on the principle of "original scale, original shape, and original craftsmanship." After reconstruction, the outer city gate was 25.28 meters long, 15.14 meters wide, and 14 meters high, containing 293 stone steps.
