About Tangyue Memorial Archways
Tangyue Archway Group is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction located on the East Avenue of Tangyue Village, Zhengcun Town, She County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It is a representative work of ancient Huizhou architectural art during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Seven archways are arranged along the ancient road, including 3 from the Ming Dynasty and 4 from the Qing Dynasty. They represent the Bao family's ethics of "loyalty, filial piety, integrity, and righteousness" and bear witness to the development of Huizhou merchants for more than 300 years. The archway group is built with "Shexian Qing" stone and no rivets are used. Emperor Qianlong once praised the village as "unparalleled in the world for kindness and filial piety, and the first township in the south of the Yangtze River for embroidery".
