About Baylong (Bailong) elevator
Bailong Ladder is located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, Hunan, a world natural heritage site. It is a joint venture between Beijing Bailong Green Technology Enterprise Corporation and British Freud Co., Ltd. The construction of Bailong Elevator started in September 1999 and was completed and put into operation in April 2002. The main equipment of the elevator was researched and produced by the German Rangger International Elevator Company at a cost of 180 million yuan. The Bailong Elevator is majestic, with a vertical height difference of 335 meters and a running height of 326 meters. It consists of a 154-meter vertical shaft in the mountain and a 172-meter mountain-mounted steel structure derrick. It uses three double-layer fully exposed sightseeing machines to operate in parallel and split.
