About Water Winding Four Gates
The Four Gates of Water is an important attraction in the core scenic spot of Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie. It is located at the intersection of the east gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the west gate of Suoxiyu Nature Reserve. It is named after the four streams of Jinbian Creek, Kuangdong Creek, Yuanyang Creek and Longwei Creek that twist and merge here. Surrounded by peaks and rocks, four natural mountain gates are formed in the southeast, northwest and northwest. There are existing landscapes such as Forty-Eight Generals Rock, Bijia Mountain, Long Live Monument, and Zhang Liang's Tomb. This place was called Zhima Tao in ancient times. According to legend, Zhang Liang lived here in seclusion in the Western Han Dynasty. Xiang Dakun raised a banner here to rebel and claimed to be the emperor in the Ming Dynasty.
