About The Villa of Chen
Chen Yumen's former residence is located at No. 3, Jiangci Lane, Ningbo City. It has three existing courtyard buildings, integrating the architectural styles of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The first entrance is a small foreign-style building, the second entrance is a typical building of the Republic of China, and the third entrance is a triple courtyard in the late Qing Dynasty. The main building has five bays and two lanes with double eaves, a hard mountain structure, and the two wing rooms are two-bay double eaves buildings. The building complex was built in the late Qing Dynasty and was converted into the Ningbo Traditional Culture Theme Museum in 2018. The former residence was named after Chen Yumen (1817-1878), whose character was Zhengyao.
