About Li's Ancestral Temple
The Li Clan Ancestral Hall (Fenglin Temple) is located at the foot of Fenglin Mountain, Shanyang Town, Gutian County, Fujian Province. It was first built in the first year of Tang Tianyou (904), renovated in the fourth year of Tiancheng in the Later Tang Dynasty (929), and expanded in the first year of Guangshun in the Later Zhou Dynasty (951). In 1985, the Gutian County People's Government announced it as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. The temple faces the southeast from the northwest, with a width of 25 meters and a depth of 67.8 meters. It covers an area of 1,694.68 square meters. It is a three-entry wooden Xieshan style palace building. It was founded by Li Ba, the fourth generation ancestor of Fujian. It has a wind and fire wall around it and retains the stone pillars of the Tang Dynasty and the traces of repairs in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
