About Yongle Ancient Road

Yongle Ancient Road is a trade channel formed during the Tang and Song Dynasties connecting the southeastern part of Yongjia, Zhejiang, and the central and western part of Yueqing. The main route extends along the Nanxi River, and there are many ruins such as Pingkeng, Hesheng and Faxiangling. The ancient road is paved with stones and was originally dozens of kilometers long. It is also known as the "Yongle Thoroughfare" and is responsible for the trade of seafood, mountain products and tea between the two places. Ancient villages of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ancient pavilions, carved stone railings and other relics are scattered along the route. In the Tang Dynasty, prominent families such as Lv Yi settled on this ancient road. In the Song Dynasty, the Zhu clan flourished, and in the Yuan Dynasty, Li Xiaoguang's poems recorded humanistic exchanges.
