About Xiake Ancient Road

The Xiake Ancient Trail is based on the route described in "Xu Xiake's Travels" and passes through Ninghai County, Tiantai County and Xinchang County in Zhejiang Province. It was built around the Tang Dynasty. Most of the existing ancient roads are paved with cobblestones, and there are many scenic spots and historic sites on both sides of the ancient roads. At the same time, the ancient roads are the essence of the Tang Poetry Road, with many legends and stories and profound cultural heritage, such as Liu Ruan's encounter with the immortal and the legend of Jigong, which are listed on the national intangible cultural heritage list.
