About Chiang's Former Residence

Jiang's House is located on the east bank of Yue Lake in Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is a municipal cultural relic protection site in Ningbo City. The house was built during the Republic of China and was built by Chiang Kai-shek's half-brother Chiang Kai-shek in 1928 when he was the supervisor of Zhejiang Customs. The building is made of Western-style brick cladding with rosettes, scroll-shaped brick short columns, and plum rain stone door frames. The main buildings on the central axis are the gate, the front hall, and the main room in order, forming a closed three-in-one courtyard. The front hall has a hard top, the gable is made of Guanyin dome, and the front porch in the open room is equipped with exquisite iron flower railings. The current building has been repaired, and the two characters "Jiang Zhai" on the door are inscribed by Mao Yihu.
