About Lu's Former Residence

Luzhai, located in Luzhai Village, the eastern suburb of Dongyang City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, is an ancient Chinese residential building. The Lu family has settled here since the Song Dynasty, and has lived together as a family for generations. From Lu Ruicheng becoming a Jinshi in the 19th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1421), to the middle of the Qing Dynasty, many large-scale residences were built successively, forming a relatively complete Ming and Qing residential complex, which is also a typical feudal family settlement. There are thousands of houses in Luzhai, and there are more than 20 existing buildings from Jingtai of Ming Dynasty to the early Republic of China. The building complex is surrounded by water on three sides and faces Beacon Hill to the south. Luzhai belongs to a group of prestigious ancient buildings in the south of the Yangtze River.
