About Huxin Temple Site
The former site of Huxin Temple is located in Yuehu Flower Island, Haishu District, Ningbo City. The existing building is called Yuehu Nunnery. In 1999, it was listed as the second batch of municipal cultural relics protection sites in Ningbo City. The temple was built in the first to fourth years of Zhiping in the Northern Song Dynasty (1064-1067). It was originally named Shuilu Ming Taoist Temple. In the first year of Xining (1068), it was awarded the name "Shou Shengyuan" by Song Shenzong. In the 32nd year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1162), it was awarded the name "Huxin Guangfu Temple" by Song Gaozong. After the temple was destroyed, it was rebuilt and added to the Yuan Gong Temple in the early Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1368) to commemorate the anti-Yuan martyr Yuan Yong. It was rebuilt again during the Xuande period.
