About Cliff carvings group
The cliff stone carvings group is located on the cliff of Rhinoceros Peak in Tianchengqi Gorge, Xiaojiafang Town, Shaowu City, Nanping City, Fujian Province. It is a relic of ancient stone carvings with the theme of orchid culture. The group of stone carvings includes the stone carvings of "The First Valley of Orchids in China" inscribed by Professor Liu Qingyong, a contemporary orchid expert. Liu Qingyong was the vice president of the China Orchid Association and the editor-in-chief of the magazines "Chinese Orchid", "Orchid" and "Orchid Collection", and enjoys special national allowances. Engraved are poems praising orchids by historical figures such as Confucius, Qu Yuan, Li Shimin, Zhu Xi, Zheng Banqiao and Zhu De. As an auspicious flower, the Chinese orchid also has the connotation of filial piety to the elders.
