About futon stone

The Futon Stone is a natural landscape in Huangshan Scenic Area, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It is located on the right side of the tour road from Yuping Tower to Laodaokou. It is a flat thin stone. The neighboring futon pine is located on the left side of the Yuping Cableway station. The top of the tree is as flat and broad as a round table. Its name is related to the practice legend of monk Shi Daoyun in the Tang Dynasty. It is said that when Shi Daoyun and his disciples climbed Tiandu Peak, the eldest disciple sat there for seven days and returned to the Zen forest because of fear of danger. The younger disciple followed his master to the top and was blown down by the mountain wind to the pine tree of the futon to escape. Shi Daoyun then concluded that this pine was blessed by the Buddha. Climbers passing here can see the natural scene of rising clouds and mist in the valley.
