About Monument to Soviet Martyrs
The Soviet Red Army Martyrs Monument is located on the west side of the Museum Square in Nangang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. It was a monument built by the Soviet Red Army Command in 1945 to commemorate the Soviet soldiers who died in the battle against the Japanese invaders. On November 11, 1997, when former Russian President Yeltsin visited Harbin, he laid a wreath in front of the monument to commemorate the Russian martyrs.
