About Former Kangde Hall
The former site of the Kande Hall is located at the intersection of Renmin Street and Bei'an Road in Changchun City, Jilin Province. It was invested and constructed by the Japanese Mitsubishi Consortium. Construction started in 1933 and was completed in 1935. The building initially had four floors above ground and one underground floor, with a total construction area of 8,898 square meters. In 1985, two floors were added. During the Manchukuo period, the building mainly provided transportation, accommodation, postal and telecommunications, entertainment and other services for major Japanese consortium personnel coming to China, and also engaged in real estate rental. After the liberation of Changchun in 1948, it was used as the office building of the Changchun Municipal People's Government for a long time.
