About Yuan Zhai
Yuanzhai is an ancient building from the Qing Dynasty located at No. 7, 14 and 16, Yuedao, Yuehu Scenic Area, Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Ningbo City. The house was built during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. The main building faces south. The original owner was Yuan Yangzhou, who lived in Daotai during the Xianfeng period. In September 1999, Yuan Zhai was announced as the second batch of municipal cultural relics protection sites in Ningbo City. The Qing Dynasty writer Yao Xie lived here for a long time and named his residence "Zhenhu Thatched Cottage", and formed the "Zhenhu Poetry Society" with Yongshang scribes. The painter Wu Guanzhong once created his representative work "Two Swallows" using Yuan Zhai as the material. The current building houses the Ningbo Tea Culture Museum.
