About Baiyun Village
Baiyun Village is located on the bank of Guanjiang River in Haishu District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It was built in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. It was originally the ancestral village of the Wantai family, the head of the Ministry of Household Affairs. It was named after Wan Sixuan (named Mr. Baiyun), the fifth son of Wantai. The existing building was rebuilt in 1934. In 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit. The village was the core teaching place for the Yongshang Witness Academy founded by Huang Zongxi. Wan Sitong, a representative of the Eastern Zhejiang School, once studied here. Wan Bangfu (the father of Wan Tai), Wan Sixuan's tomb and Wan Sitong's former residence now exist.
