About ShaQi Residence
The former residence of Sha Qi, also known as Li Zhai, is a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Sha Village, Tangxi Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. The original name of the former residence was "Li Zhai", which was named by Sha Menghai in 1927. Its meaning was borrowed from the story of Confucius' student Zi Lu. The building was built during the Republic of China. It is a two-story building with brick and wood structure. It faces south and has a brick-carved door with the word "Li Zhai" written on it. Sha Qi lived here for a long time after returning to China in 1946, and a large number of his wall graffiti and murals remain in his former residence. At present, the building has been turned into a display room (memorial hall) of Sha Qi's former residence. After renovations and exhibition upgrades, it will reopen in July.
