About Ningbo Post Bureau in Jiangbei
The history of the postal institution where the former Ningbo Post Office is located can be traced back to 1896, when the Qing Post Office was established in Ningbo, and in 1897, the Ningbo Post Office was established. The building was built in 1927. It was the location of Ningbo's first-class post office and assumed the postal hub function in eastern Zhejiang. Its predecessor was the Zhejiang Xinguan Club established in 1897. The building is a two-story brick and wood structure with a convex layout. The main body faces east and south, with a width of five bays and a total depth of 20 meters. It uses an exterior wall of alternating green bricks and red bricks. The east facade is decorated with arched porches and Ionic capitals. The roof combines a gabled roof and a hip roof design.
