About General's Residence

The Guerrilla General's Mansion, also known as the Guerrilla Yamen, is located in the Jiayuguan Cultural Relics Scenic Area in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province. It is generally believed to have been first built in the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty. Some research also believes that its initial construction date can be traced back to the first year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1506). It was the place where the guerrilla generals who guarded Jiayuguan in the Ming and Qing dynasties handled military and political affairs. The existing building was restored and rebuilt on the original site from 1987 to 1988. It adopts the layout of two courtyards, three halls and a quadrangle, covering an area of 1,755 square meters and a building area of 808 square meters.
