About Former Zhejiang Administrative Office Site
The former site of the Eastern Zhejiang Administrative Office is located in Hengkantou Village (Shangxinwu), Liangnong Town, Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province. It is a core component of the former anti-Japanese base site group in Eastern Zhejiang (Siming Mountain). The building was originally a private residence in the late Qing Dynasty. In January 1945, the administrative office was formally established after the temporary congress of all walks of life behind enemy lines in eastern Zhejiang. Lian Baisheng served as director and Wu Shanmin served as deputy director. They unified leadership in the construction of political power in Siming, Sanbei and other regions, promoted rent and interest reductions, large-scale production movements, and established the Bank of East Zhejiang to issue anti-currency.
