About Shunjiang Tower
Shunjiang Tower is a landmark ancient building in Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province. It was built by Ye Heng from the Yuan Dynasty to the first year of the Yuan Dynasty (1335). It was originally equipped with an engraved timing device, so it is commonly known as the "Drum Tower." The building and Tongji Bridge form a landscape combination of "Changhong soars into the sky and flying pavilions ballast". In 1981, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Yuyao City. In 1995, it was named one of the first batch of patriotic education bases in Yuyao City. In 2011, it was upgraded to a provincial cultural protection unit. Shunjiang Tower was built on the only remaining 5-meter-high ancient city wall in Yuyao. It adopts official-style methods and has important architectural scientific value.
