About Hanling Old Street
Hanling Old Street Scenic Area is located in Hanling Village, Dongqianhu Town, Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, about 20 kilometers away from Ningbo City. It is located on the south bank of Dongqian Lake, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the lake on one side. It is one of the first ten famous historical villages in Ningbo City. It is a component of Dongqian Lake Scenic Area and is known as the "No. 1 Ancient Street in Eastern Zhejiang". The village was formed after the dredging of Dongqian Lake in the third year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (744). During Wang Anshi's reign in Yin in the eighth year of Qingli in the Northern Song Dynasty (1048), the lake boundary was rebuilt and a regular market was established. Shi Hao of the Southern Song Dynasty's "East Lake Tour" records its market style of "fishermen's songs, woodcutter's and ax sounds".
