About Two Turtles Probe the Stream
Shuanggui Tanxi is located in the Golden Whip River Grand Canyon in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. The landscape is two overlapping stones on the top of a strange peak, shaped like two turtles, with the upper one larger and the lower one slightly smaller. Because the heads of the stones all look towards the Golden Whip Stream, it is named "Two Turtles Exploring the Stream". According to folklore, it was transformed into a divine turtle that came from the East China Sea to protect the Golden Whip Stream. There is no need to purchase a separate ticket to visit this landscape. It is included in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park ticket. It is recommended that the tour lasts about 10 minutes and requires a full hike. The opening hours of the scenic spot are generally from 7:00 to 18:00.
