About Foshan Municipal Museum
Foshan Museum is located at No. 21 Zumiao Road, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. The museum was established in 1959 and is a prefecture-level municipal public comprehensive museum. The history of the Foshan Municipal Museum can be traced back to 1959. It initially coexisted with the Foshan Ancestral Temple, and also managed the Confucius Temple, Huang Feihong Memorial Hall, Ip Man Hall and other special venues. In 2008, the Foshan Municipal Museum and the Ancestral Temple Management Agency were separated and transformed into a municipal-level comprehensive museum. The construction of a new museum has since been put on the agenda. After more than ten years of preparation and construction, the new Foshan Museum will enter its trial operation stage during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in 2025.
