About QuanZhou Museum of Overseas Chinese history
The Quanzhou Overseas Chinese History Museum is located at No. 732 Donghu Street, Fengze District, Quanzhou City. It is the first special museum on overseas Chinese history in the China Overseas Chinese Federation system. It is a national third-level museum and a formal-level institution affiliated to the Quanzhou Overseas Chinese Federation. The museum mainly displays the history of overseas Chinese immigrants from Quanzhou and their survival and development, reflecting the characteristics of the overseas Chinese group and their role in the development of human civilization. It has a construction area of 6,523 square meters. The arc-shaped arch design on the front of the main building symbolizes the bridge connecting Quanzhou and overseas folks. The museum began preparations for construction in 1982, and a preparatory committee was established in 1987.
