About Doctor's Di
"Da Fu Di", whose pinyin is dà fū dì, is a general name for the residences built by senior officials in ancient China. It generally refers to the private residences of civilian officials, especially the residences of officials from the fifth rank of "Fengzhi Dafu" and above. "Da Fu Di" is the family name of a scholar-bureaucrat, which is a status display and a symbol of family prominence. In contemporary times, some historical "Dafudi" buildings have been listed as cultural relics protection units or historical buildings and have been protected and repaired. For example, the "Wenguang Archway" in Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province was built in the Ming Dynasty and is a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The renovation project was completed in 2025 through public interest litigation.
