About Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum
The Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum is located in Zhaoxiang Park, Zhaoxiang Road, Chancheng District, Foshan City, with a construction area of about 3,000 square meters. The Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum was formerly known as Zhaoxiang Huanggong Temple. It was established in the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920) and is a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. In 2003, it was renovated. On May 20 of the same year, the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum was established; it was initially named Foshan Cantonese Opera Museum. It opened on May 23 of the same year. On April 2, 2004, it was renamed Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum. On July 30, 2007, it came under the management of Foshan Chancheng District Museum. As of the end of 2007, the number of collections in the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum was 1,266 pieces/set.
