About Fuling Mausoleum

Fuling Mausoleum is located in Tianzhu Mountain on the north bank of the Hun River in the eastern suburbs of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, about 18 kilometers away from the urban area. It is the mausoleum of Nurhachi, the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, and Yehenala, the queen of Xiaocigao. Because it is located in the eastern suburbs of Shenyang, it is also called Shenyang Dongling and is one of the three tombs in Shengjing. In the third year of Tiancong (1629), the mausoleum was built in the northeastern suburbs of Shengjing, with a total area of about 194,800 square meters. Nurhaci was born in the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1559). He was a Jurchen in Jianzhou and an entrepreneurial monarch of the Qing Dynasty. Later, he became the leader of Jianzhou Jurchen. In the eleventh year of Wanli (1583), he was awarded the command of the left guard capital of Jianzhou.
