About Ningbo Museum of Education
Ningbo is a famous historical and cultural city in the country and is known as a "land of culture and education". The human civilization of seven thousand years ago reflected in Yuyao Hemudu culture shows the origin and characteristics of Ningbo education. From the establishment of "state schools" in the Tang Dynasty and "academies" in the Song Dynasty, to the rise of Zhejiang and Yaojiang schools in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, to the establishment of women's schools and schools in modern times, Ningbo education has always stood at the forefront of Chinese education. Ningbo Yongjiang Girls' High School, the first girls' middle school in China listed in the "Education Dictionary", was formerly known as Ningbo Girls' School. It was founded in 1844 by Ms. Edsey, a member of the British Oriental Women's Education Association and a Christian missionary.
