About Ningbo Museum of Contemporary Art
The Ningbo Museum of Contemporary Art is located at No. 100 Heyi Road, the original site of Yongjiang Girls' Middle School (now inside the 1844 Heyi Art Life Center). It was officially opened on May 12, 2014 with the opening of the 55th Venice Biennale International Touring Exhibition China Ningbo Station. The art museum contains Yongjiang Girls' Middle School, a municipal cultural protection unit. 1844 has also become its nickname. The legal representative will be Rong Qi after the change in November 2025. Litan Art and 1844 signed a cooperative operation agreement. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in art museum operations, exhibitions and other fields. Its site was formerly known as China's first girls' middle school - Yongjiang Girls' Middle School, which was listed in the "Education Dictionary". It was founded by Ms. Edsey in 1844.
