About Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, located at No. 299 Dongfeng Middle Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, was built with funds raised by the people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Construction started in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929) and was completed in the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931). The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located on the former site of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's presidential palace, covering a total area of 6.3 hectares. Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is one of the most iconic buildings in Guangzhou and a model of the perfect combination of traditional Chinese architectural style and Western architectural structure. The main building covers an area of 12,000 square meters and is 52 meters high. It is an octagonal ancient palace-style building.
