About China Umbrella Museum
The Chinese Umbrella Museum is located in the historical and cultural district of Gongchenqiao West, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Together with the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum Group, it forms a museum community. As the world's first umbrella-themed museum, its exhibition hall has a construction area of 2,411 square meters, and its temporary exhibition hall has a construction area of 527 square meters. It has six exhibition areas to systematically present the legend of the origin of umbrellas, the craftsmanship of oil-paper umbrellas and West Lake silk umbrellas, the symbol of umbrella culture, the global communication process and the development of the modern umbrella industry. It also restores the "Rain Alley" scene and the virtual rainscape experience area.
